Strengthening Agriculture Activities
National FFA Week is a week long celebration in which hundreds of FFA chapters across the United States promote and education their communities about FFA and agriculture education by hosting events, carry out service projects, putting on fun activities and so much more! This year National FFA Week will be February 16th-23rd!
Each year our chapter creates and pulls a FFA float in the DeWitt fourth of July parade. Throughout the parade, members promote FFA and agriculture education by handing out promotional items and holding signs.
FFA Fire-Up Week
FFA Homecoming Parade Float
BBQ B4 Books is an annual event held at the local park with a potluck style meal, team building activities for members and an informational meeting for supporters. The purpose is to inform FFA members, parents and alumni about upcoming events, opportunities and ways to support agriculture education in the chapter and recruit new members into our chapter.
Our chapter puts on a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day every year for the fourth graders at our school. On this day we gather livestock, chemicals, lawn mowers, tractors, and other equipment that are potential dangers. Students rotate through stations to learn what would need to be done if they ever got into a dangerous situation.
