During the Clinton County Fair our chapter members and alumni volunteer to work the food concession stands. Here members prepare food, work the cash register, clean and deliver orders to the customers.

AKC Dog Show

Trivia Night is a gathering that our chapter hosts every year it the fall. FFA members, FFA Alumni, parents, and other supporters take part in ten intriguing rounds of trivia to test their knowledge on fun categories. This fundraiser allows the DeWItt Central FFA to participate at leadership conferences, workshops, travel expenses, and to attend National Convention each year.

All spring the students in the horticulture class are hard at work planting and caring for the flowers in the greenhouse learning lab. Once the flowers are ready, students will host their annual plant sale and sell them to the people in the community. Additionally, the class will grow flowers to plant the 76 hanging baskets and 33 large planters throughout the City of DeWitt.

Clinton County Progressive Ag. Safety Day

National Night Out is an annual celebration in the town of DeWitt. Our chapter puts on a petting zoo and kids' activities at Lincoln park. While members work the event they are able to advocate for FFA and agriculture and educate others in our community.

Twice a year our FFA chapter hosts a can drive by setting up our livestock trailer at a local convenient store with a vinyl banner. We leave the trailer parked for one month and it serves as a drop off bin for can donations. Once the trailer is filled we take it to a can redemption center. This activity may serve as a SAE project, any members interested contact Mrs. Grantz!

The AKC Dog Show is hosted at the Clinton County Fairgrounds every March by the DeWitt Kennel Club. During the weekend long event FFA members volunteer by assisting with dog owners and working as ring stewards.

Clinton County Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is an event held to teach children ages 7-14 about the importance of staying safe in the agriculture industry. It is run by a group of individuals from local agricultural businesses. Our chapter volunteers to serve on this committee and we help run the event by hosting stations and leading welcoming activities.

Culver's Share Night

The activities in the Building Communities committee focus on developing citizenship, growing environmental awareness and stakeholder engagement. Below are the activities that our chapter hosts each year to build our community in the FFA each year.

Rake N' Run is an activity that our chapter holds every fall where members volunteer to rake yards for the elderly and disabled. Members are split up into different groups with a list of yards to rake. They rake the leaves into piles on a tarp, dump the tarp into a truck, and take the leaves to the county compost pile. Each yard our chapter rakes will receive a 'FFA raked yard sign'.

During National FFA Week our chapter partners with Culver's in Clinton where our members volunteer to greet, hold doors and deliver orders to customers for one night. At the end of the night Culver's donates ten percent of the profits to our chapter to help support leadership development and agriculture education.

The DeWitt Central FFA Banquet is put on every spring to celebrate our FFA members year of accomplishments and success! All sponsors, alumni, local businesses, chapter members and their families are invited to attend.
